VILLA RENTALS ON EVIA. The Aegean Sea:  Rent your holiday home on the lovely Greek Island of Evia.

GREEK ISLANDS HOLIDAY HOMES.  Evia island is the second largest Greek island after Crete and is nestled comfortably near mainland Greece, with all the charm of classic Greece, combined with the fact that it is accessible by car via a bridge from the mainland, so you can drive there from the Athens airport, making it more easily accessible than most of the more far-flung and often more crowded Cyclades. Long a popular destinations for Athenians to savor the classic villages and seaside towns as well as fine beaches. Still unspoiled by mass tourism, offering visitors a chance to avoid Athens summer tourist crowds and truly experience the real beauty of Greek island life. The villages and towns offer shops, restaurants, kafeneia (Greek coffee houses) fresh seafood, and seaside tavernas, traditional bouzoki as well as nightclubs. Discover traditional Greek life on this beautiful island that has literally captivated travelers for thousands of years. The nearby countryside offers a chance to go even deeper into real Greek life with many small villages following their classical customs. The capital of Evia is Chalkida, since antiquity. It is a modern town now, with many shops,  bars, restaurants. Chalkida is where the bridge from Athens is, and the ferry boats come and go. The drive from Athens to Chalkida (90 kms) is about 1 hour. There is an archaeological museum and the ruins of ancient temples, and a 15th century fortress. There are many villages on island of Evia to visit and good roadways to get there. You can enjoy water sports in Chalkida, Nea Stira and around Kimi, in summer. This is an island where you can find the real old Greece in the seaside towns and inland villages.
