The largest cities of Crete are Heraklion, Chania, Rethmynon and Aghios Nikolaos, all are located on the northern coast. Discover the virtually unvisited southern coast of Crete  that offers quiet beaches and easy access to rugged mountain hikes and the famous Samaria Gorge, Europe's deepest canyon. Being the furthest south of Greece's islands, Crete has a longer sun and swimming season where you can generally expect to take comfortable swims from May through October and often during most of the year.

Mini markets at the village of Sternes, 3km and larger super market 8km.In Chania town, that are many restaurants, cafes, shops and night entertainment. In just a few minutes, fine beaches, villages and the Venetian harbor of Chania are yours to enjoy. Car hire is recommended.

Villa with 6 bedrooms, 6 en-suite shower/bath rooms, 1 WC, sleeps 12. Interior: the main entrance leads into an open plan living area. To one side, a comfortable sitting room with a large fireplace set in an attractive wall of local stone, plus a massive picture window to make the most of the views down the valley. At the far end of the living area, a breakfast bar separates the superb fitted kitchen, with an abundance of work surfaces, including dishwasher, microwave and espresso machine. guest WC, washing machine. The formal dining room, set between the kitchen and sitting area, has its own large picture window with views over the village to the mountains with a C.D. Hi-Fi system. Doors from here and the kitchen, open onto a covered terrace, with a large marble topped patio table for informal meals and steps lead down to the beautiful 9m x 5m pool, with a Jacuzzi in one corner, plus adjoining children’s pool. Below the living area at pool level and with their own entrance doors are two further spacious twin bedrooms, without air conditioning, but both with en-suite shower rooms. One has its own covered terrace overlooking the barbecue area, whilst the other faces towards the entrance driveway and is furnished with sofa beds as a day room, ideal perhaps for teenagers needing their own space! On the upper two floors, all four bedrooms have the bonus of air-conditioning and en-suite facilities as well as French windows to their own individual terraces, complete with patio furniture and sea or mountain views. Three of these bedrooms have twin beds matrimonial style with en-suite shower rooms, whilst the master bedroom has a large double bed and an en-suite WC and wash hand basin with a hydro massage bath, in a corner of the bedroom. Gavalochori, in the centre of the scenic Apokoronou Penisula, 3.5 km inland from Almirida and at the end of a green and wooded valley leading down to the sea, the beguiling little village of Gavalohori has enjoyed something of a renaissance and the village has a pleasant air of both rural charm and prosperity. It has a bakery, 3 small mini-markets and several tavernas so of an evening, there’s always the option to wine and dine locally and stroll home under the stars. Large hilltop villa with great sea and mountain views. 5 bedrooms, 5 baths, sleeps up to 12, (10 minutes drive to Tavronitis and beach-side tavernas) Enjoy panoramic views, while enjoying the peace and tranquillity. Set on the hilltop above the small rural village of Polimarchi, this recently built 3 storey villa, has the classical lines of a 19th century Cretan manor house. Spacious patio areas The 8m x 5m pool incorporates a children’s pool and Jacuzzi and is bordered by lawns, and there is a huge covered barbecue area. The porticoed main entrance door leads into a spacious L shaped, open plan living area, with a large fireplace in one corner, plus 2 generous sofas and easy chairs grouped around a large coffee table. Beyond the sitting area is a formal dining area, whilst to one side is a very well equipped kitchen with a further dining table & chairs, plus fridge-freezer, electric cooker with ceramic hob, microwave, dish washer and ample cupboards for storage. Guest WC, washing machine. There are a total of 5 (air conditioned) bedrooms (include 3 twins and 2 doubles) all with en-suite facilities, including 2 turbo massage baths and 2 turbo massage showers. All bedrooms have a satellite TV as well as a DVD player and all have terraces or balconies with patio table and comfortable director’s chairs. Two of the twin bedrooms are particularly spacious and have additional, small single beds suitable for children. There are 2 doubles and 1 twin/triple at first floor level and a further twin/triple on the ground floor which has a shower room suitable for wheel chair use. At lower ground floor level there is a twin bedroom with en suite turbo massage shower. This bedroom has sliding patio doors to a quiet terrace and lawn area to the side of the property. Also at this level is the spacious games room and gym, presently equipped with a pool table, exercise bike and treadmill. In the quiet, warm darkness of the night, the villa, pool and gardens are subtly stage lit and hillside villages near and far slowly materialize like small clusters of diamonds. 5 minutes drive from the baker in Tavronitis via ‘the short cut’ it’s always possible to have fresh bread for breakfast or even an early morning swim in the sea.
