The villa is within easy reach of the sandy beaches of western Crete. Built in an exclusive style, with upscale architecture. On the top of a hill, the luxury villa has five semi-levels. The beautiful private pool is surrounded by a lush garden with views of the town and sea. A series of terraces lead up the hilly landscape to the house and pool. Crete. Apokoronou Penisula. Villa with 6 bedrooms, 6 en-suite shower/bath rooms, 1 WC, sleeps 12. Interior: the main entrance leads into an open plan living area. To one side, a comfortable sitting room with a large fireplace set in an attractive wall of local stone, plus a massive picture window to make the most of the views down the valley. At the far end of the living area, a breakfast bar separates the superb fitted kitchen, with an abundance of work surfaces, including dishwasher, microwave and espresso machine. guest WC, washing machine. The formal dining room, set between the kitchen and sitting area, has its own large picture window with views over the village to the mountains with a C.D. Hi-Fi system. Doors from here and the kitchen, open onto a covered terrace, with a large marble topped patio table for informal meals and steps lead down to the beautiful 9m x 5m pool, with a Jacuzzi in one corner, plus adjoining children’s pool. Below the living area at pool level and with their own entrance doors are two further spacious twin bedrooms, without air conditioning, but both with en-suite shower rooms. One has its own covered terrace overlooking the barbecue area, whilst the other faces towards the entrance driveway and is furnished with sofa beds as a day room, ideal perhaps for teenagers needing their own space! On the upper two floors, all four bedrooms have the bonus of air-conditioning and en-suite facilities as well as French windows to their own individual terraces, complete with patio furniture and sea or mountain views. Three of these bedrooms have twin beds matrimonial style with en-suite shower rooms, whilst the master bedroom has a large double bed and an en-suite WC and wash hand basin with a hydro massage bath, in a corner of the bedroom. Gavalochori, in the centre of the scenic Apokoronou Penisula, 3.5 km inland from Almirida and at the end of a green and wooded valley leading down to the sea, the beguiling little village of Gavalohori has enjoyed something of a renaissance and the village has a pleasant air of both rural charm and prosperity. It has a bakery, 3 small mini-markets and several tavernas so of an evening, there’s always the option to wine and dine locally and stroll home under the stars. Set on the hilltop above the small rural village of Polimarchi, this recently built 3 storey villa, has the classical lines of a 19th century Cretan manor house. Spacious patio areas The 8m x 5m pool incorporates a children’s pool and Jacuzzi and is bordered by lawns, and there is a huge covered barbecue area. The porticoed main entrance door leads into a spacious L shaped, open plan living area, with a large fireplace in one corner, plus 2 generous sofas and easy chairs grouped around a large coffee table. All bedrooms have a satellite TV as well as a DVD player and all have terraces or balconies with patio table and comfortable director’s chairs. Two of the twin bedrooms are particularly spacious and have additional, small single beds suitable for children. There are 2 doubles and 1 twin/triple at first floor level and a further twin/triple on the ground floor which has a shower room suitable for wheel chair use. At lower ground floor level there is a twin bedroom with en suite turbo massage shower. This bedroom has sliding patio doors to a quiet terrace and lawn area to the side of the property. Crete. Spacious (4,800 sq. ft.) villa with 5 bedrooms 4 bathrooms, in a typical inland Crete village. It is set on a property of 600 sqm, closed-in by high stone walls, with tiled courtyard, a small freshwater swimming pool, large rooms and terraces, and Jacuzzi/whirlpool. 2 storey Venetian style villa surrounded by charming pathways paved with cobblestones, and located in the heart of the traditional village of Maroulas, near Platanias village and Rethymnon city, just a short drive away from the beach. The yard is tiled with cobblestones and decorated with ceramic containers, with freshwater swimming pool (approx. 5x4m, 1.70 depth) and a sitting area for 6 persons under the shade of a lemon tree. From the yard there is access to the main house as well as the guest room, which has a double bed and a small WC/bath (entrance and exit of the guest room is via the yard only). The entrance to the main house is via a covered patio, with a marble table (7 chairs) and a sink. The arched door opens onto a large open-plan area comprising of a dining area for 10 persons, separated from the kitchen by a marble counter. (A side door lead to a double bedroom which exits onto an open courtyard, housing a Jacuzzi whirlpool for 6-7 persons; the courtyard is also accessible directly from the dining room). Further inside there is a small sitting area with hi-fi and satellite TV. The main sitting room features bamboo furniture, a fireplace, and a small study with antique furniture. A corridor and few steps lead to the rest of the house. Straight and on the left there is a WC/shower recess, a laundry room with washing machine and dryer and a staircase that leads to the first floor. There is a small playground under the staircase and by its side there is exit onto the sun terrace: partly shaded by pergola, the sun terrace features outdoor furniture and distant view over the village of Maroulas to the sea. The first floor of the manor houses the master double bedroom with 4 windows (some with sea view), fireplace and en suite WC/bath, a small double bedroom with window overlooking the sun terrace and a single bedroom with built-in bed, sofa bed and 1 children bed accessible by ladder. French doors open onto the sun terrace. The two latter bedrooms share a WC/bath. All bedrooms are air-conditioned. Parking for 1 car outside the property. Distances 200m from the local centre, 2kms from the village of Platanias, 8 kms from Rethymnon, 2kms from the nearest sandy beach.
