lake rental area, in the northern Italian Lakes
District. Lake Como is surrounded by beautiful
villas and lovely villages. Lake Como is between
Milan and Switzerland's border, and surrounded
by hills/mountains. Milan's Malpensa airport is
about 40 miles away from Como. To explore this
lovely area there are ferries that link towns
and major villages around the lake.
Renowned Lake Como is considered by many
to be the world's most beautiful spot.

Lake Como is
the most well known. It is surrounded by
mountains and hills, lying between Milan and
border of Switzerland, in the northern Italy
Lake District. The south end of Lake Como is
about 40 km north of Milan. You can explore the
lakes district by car, bus and the most popular
way of sightseeing is from the lake by ferry, as
ferries connect many villages and towns of Lake
Como. Explore Bellagio, the pearl of the lake,
where the 3 branches of Lake Como come together.
The town of Como has lovely squares, a historic
center, and nice cafes. Visit the elegant Villa
d'Este, located on the west side of the lake in
the village of Cernobbio, for a taste of luxury
and old Italy. Menaggio also on the west side of
the lake with a lakeside promenade. Mezzegra, a
small village between Argegno and Menaggio with
access via Como is also popular. There is so
much beauty surrounding this lovely area of
Italy that makes it such a popular area for

LAKE MAGGIORE, LAKE LUGANO,
LAKE ORTA: The
northern tip of Lake Maggiore lies in Switzerland with two important towns,
Locarno and Ascona. Lake Lugano is smaller than both Lake Como and Lake
Maggiore, and has a bridge over the lake that connects the towns of Melide and
Bisonne. Most of Lake Lugano is in Switzerland. The main city on the lake is
Lugano, which is a modern, trendy city but still with Italian culture. At the
eastern end of the lake which is all in Italy, Porlezza is the main town sitting
at the extreme east end. Italys' lakes lie in a series of long, deep valleys
running down onto the plains from the Alps, Lake Maggiore perhaps being the most
elegant. Lake Orta, Lago d’Orta only a mile wide, west of Lake Maggiore, is a
quieter area of Italy's lakes.

LAKE GARDA ( Lago di Garda ) is the
largest and perhaps most enchanting of the Italian lakes. Encircled by the
grandeur of the Italian Alps and with its shores dotted with numerous beautiful,
elegant Italian towns, it offers an abundance of things to see and do. There are
many beautiful towns along Lake Garda, from Riva to the north and Desenzano in
the south, which include Salo, Gardone, Sirmione. Verona is about 45 minutes
away. You can explore and make day trips to Milan and Venice from this inspiring
area of Italy. Explore the ancient town of Sirmione, (at the south end of the
lake), and through out the area, the towns of Desenzano del Garda, Lonato,
Padenghe sul Garda, Manerba del Garda, San Felice del Benaco, Salo, Gardone
Riviera, Toscolano-Maderno, Gargnano, Tignale, Tremosine, Limone sul Garda, Riva
del Garda, Malcesine, Brenzone, Torri del Benaco, Garda, Bardolino, Lazise,
Castelnuovo del Garda, and Peschiera del Garda. Take a trip to nearby Gardaland,
a well known theme park. This is an enchanting area to vacation.
